The Specific Objectives
-
to assemble collections of living soybean pathogens representing
the range of genetic diversity within bacteria, fungi, nematodes,
and viruses that are considered important for improving soybean germplasm
by plant pathologists and soybean breeders
-
to characterize, evaluate, maintain, and distribute the collections
under appropriate conditions to preserve pathogenicity and other characteristics
- to serve as a liason among public and private breeders and pathologists
for information and training on germplasm screening, and to enhance
research strategies for understanding of pathogen diversity
